Agile Training

Increasingly intelligent. Growing better.

As established in the 12 principles of the “Agile Manifesto”, it is a perspective according to which professionals, teams and the organization in general must strive to be agile and adaptable, to accept change and learn to take advantage of it to their advantage.

Among the key points of Agile is the idea that having the right people on your development team is much more important than simply having good processes and tools to work with. With the right combined set of talents and skills, a software team can be truly multifunctional and react well to difficulties and sudden changes in customer requests.

Beyond this, Agile advocates planning development in a way more or less analogous to the process of evolutionary change. Delivery teams must be largely, if not completely, autonomous, and managers will only step in to help teams deal with organizational problems that they can't solve on their own. Teams must deliver tangible, functional software to customers at frequent intervals, measured in weeks or months, to receive customer feedback and adapt subsequent versions of their programs to that feedback.

Alignment and communication, both internally between team members and externally between team members and customers, are a source of feedback. With this continuous feedback, teams will be able to organize and create business solutions that best meet customer needs.

What is Agile training?

Empowering your development team to adopt the agile approach involves empowering them to focus especially on the consumer and the end user. There are several different agile frameworks where SotaHypex can help empower your teams, including:

Scrum is an agile framework that supports the delivery of flexible, incremental, and high-value products to customers.

Agile fundamentals and Scrum training

Scrum, one of the most used agile frameworks, which even extends to projects beyond software development, is well organized and easy to understand, but requires some work to master.

The fundamental principles behind scrum are simple. It's a framework optimized for software teams that consist of 10 members or less. Development objectives are divided into units of time called sprints. Sprints have a fixed duration (usually two weeks, but never more than four) and must be repeated as many times as the overall project requires.

During the sprint, there is a 15-minute daily meeting, called a daily scrum, where members track their progress toward their goal of the sprint and adjust their plans according to changing conditions.

At the end of each sprint, the team and stakeholders, as appropriate, meet to review the increase in product work that was built during the sprint. The intention is to obtain feedback for continuous product improvement. This is followed by a sprint retrospective that allows for continuous improvement of processes within the team.

These Scrum events culminate to form a closed loop system that supports the ability to quickly and continuously deliver the most value to customers while meeting changing market demands.

For organizations that adopt Agile and seek to make the most of it, one area to consider is training project managers, scrum masters and change leaders in the discipline of Agile Coaches.

The Agile Coach is a catalyst and change agent who works to promote excellence in teams and achieve the organization's agenda through Agile facilitation, mentoring, coaching and teaching skills. They may differ from a traditional Scrum Master role in that they go beyond facilitation and can support multiple teams or operate at the program level and above.

While Agile Coaching can be considered a function in and of itself, it can also be seen as a transferable discipline or set of competencies that managers, scrum masters and leaders can employ to help teams and organizations become the best version of themselves.

Kanban training

Kanban is what is known as an agile framework. This means that the framework is dedicated to eliminating waste and inefficiency in all its forms without sacrificing productivity. Kanban also strives to provide all team members with a representation of each project's progress and potential trackers through a visual aid called a Kanban board.

All projects are addressed according to a “pull” management system, so the team's self-organization is paramount. A manager will propose a problem and then allow the team to propose, discuss and refine solutions instead of imposing them from the top down.

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Training

SAFe is another Lean-Agile framework that is primarily concerned with scaling. It seeks to make long-term and large scale projects feasible, first taking an overview of the entire company and then dividing the work into small units with identical times. It also decentralizes decision-making and gives teams autonomy.

The Future of Agile in an Ever-Changing Technological World

As technology continues to evolve, Agile must also adapt to keep up with the times.

There's no question that Agile has already transformed the way businesses operate and will continue to do so in the future. One of the most important aspects of Agile is its flexibility; it's designed to respond to change quickly. This is increasingly important in a world where new technologies are emerging every day. Agile must also continue to evolve to keep up with the demands of the ever-changing business landscape.

As more and more companies adopt Agile, it will be even more essential that they adapt quickly and efficiently to stay ahead of the competition. In short, the future of Agile is undeniably bright; it has already changed the business world for the better and will continue to do so for years to come.
